Event-Based Catering Chef (On-Call / Part-Time)
We are seeking an experienced Event-Based Catering Chef to join our team and support elevated, high-touch events at our private event venue. This role is ideal for a chef who thrives in fast-paced environments, excels in menu execution, and brings strong kitchen management skills to every service.
Responsibilities
- Lead all culinary operations for assigned events, from prep to execution.
- Manage back-of-house flow, including timing, plating, staffing, and station setup.
- Maintain high culinary standards and ensure consistency in presentation and flavor.
- Collaborate with event managers to build menus and adjust offerings based on client needs.
- Oversee food safety, sanitation, and kitchen organization throughout events.
- Manage inventory, track product usage, and communicate ordering needs.
- Train, supervise, and support kitchen assistants and event cooks as needed.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of culinary and kitchen management experience required.
- Strong background in catering, banquets, or high-volume events.
- Ability to execute refined, elevated menus with precision.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Punctual, organized, and highly reliable.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Schedule & Compensation
- Event-based / on-call scheduling depending on venue calendar.
- Must be available evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Competitive hourly rate or per-event pay (DOE).
Pay: $ $100.00 per hour
Expected hours: 1.0 – 20.0 per week
Work Location: In person
