We are hiring a Distribution Center Associate in Detroit, Michigan. This role is fundamental to the smooth functioning of our logistics operations, ensuring efficient processing and movement of goods. Your responsibilities will include receiving and inspecting shipments, accurately stocking inventory, picking and packing orders with precision, and preparing them for dispatch. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect inbound freight for damage or discrepancies.
- Accurately place received goods into designated warehouse storage locations.
- Pick and pack customer orders efficiently and accurately using RF scanners.
- Prepare orders for shipment, including proper labeling and packaging.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and assist with cycle counting procedures.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and according to training.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse floor and storage areas.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a distribution center or warehouse setting is strongly preferred.
- Ability to perform frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Proficiency in using RF scanning equipment and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team.
- Physical capacity to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all PPE requirements.
- Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Familiarity with logistics and supply chain processes is a plus.
