We are hiring a Distribution Center Associate in Detroit, Michigan. Your responsibilities will include receiving and inspecting shipments, accurately stocking inventory, picking and packing orders with precision, and preparing them for dispatch. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect inbound freight for damage or discrepancies.
- Accurately place received goods into designated warehouse storage locations.
- Pick and pack customer orders efficiently and accurately using RF scanners.
- Prepare orders for shipment, including proper labeling and packaging.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and assist with cycle counting procedures.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and according to training.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse floor and storage areas.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a distribution center or warehouse setting is strongly preferred.
- Ability to perform frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Proficiency in using RF scanning equipment and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team.
- Physical capacity to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all PPE requirements.
- Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Familiarity with logistics and supply chain processes is a plus.
