About the Role

The Credentialing Coordinator manages day-to-day credentialing activities for CODA's billable providers, including physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other licensed professionals. This role ensures accurate, timely credentialing and re-credentialing with contracted payers and across all billable locations—supporting continuity of care and organizational financial health.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete and maintain initial and re-credentialing applications for providers
  • Conduct follow-up with payers, providers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely approvals
  • Maintain accurate provider demographic and credentialing data in credentialing systems
  • Request, track, and manage required provider documents to prevent lapses in credentialing
  • Submit monthly provider rosters to contracted payers
  • Monitor and address expiring credentials, applications, and payer requirements
  • Run routine reports to identify outstanding items, issues, or risks
  • Provide regular credentialing status updates to the Billing Manager and key stakeholders
  • Participate in departmental projects, meetings, trainings, and process improvements
  • Serve as backup support for other team members as needed

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in credentialing or billing within a healthcare environment

Competencies & Skills

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and deadlines
  • Ability to manage multiple credentialing timelines with minimal oversight
  • Collaborative approach to navigating approval processes and payer requirements
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with computers and basic Microsoft Office programs
  • Positive, respectful attitude when working with providers, payers, and internal teams
