Role Description
S2RC is seeking a
Business Development Intern
to support our Industrial Solutions practice, focused on safety modernization, workforce training, and compliance services across sectors such as logistics, manufacturing, infrastructure, and related industrial domains.
As a Business Development Intern, you will work closely with the Business Development Managers, and CEO to support lead generation activities, conduct focused market research, and assist with outreach and early-stage client interactions. This role is designed as a hands-on learning opportunity, providing exposure to real-world B2B sales, AI-enhanced workflows, and go-to-market strategy in a high-growth, technology-forward small business.
This internship is ideal for a student or early-career professional interested in business development, sales, or marketing within industrial and defense-adjacent markets.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Generation Support
· Research and identify prospective client organizations in logistics, manufacturing, industrial services, insurance, and related sectors.
· Build and maintain targeted prospect lists using LinkedIn, industry directories, and internal tools.
· Assist in scheduling and confirming discovery meetings for senior staff.
Client Discovery & Meeting Support
· Prepare briefing notes on prospects prior to discovery calls (company overview, key contacts, recent news, relevant safety/compliance context).
· Join select discovery or follow-up calls to capture notes, action items, and next steps.
· Document key client pain points and opportunities to support proposal development and executive handoff.
Market & Competitive Research
· Conduct research on industry trends, safety and compliance challenges, and buyer personas in target verticals.
· Summarize findings into concise briefs or slide content for internal use.
· Track competitor offerings and positioning to inform messaging and targeting strategies.
Outreach & Content Assistance
· Assist in drafting outreach messaging, including email templates, LinkedIn messages, and light marketing content tailored to specific industries.
· Support the testing and refinement of outreach sequences under guidance from the Business Development Manager and leadership.
CRM & Data Hygiene
· Update and maintain lead, contact, and opportunity records in the CRM system (Zoho).
· Log meetings, notes, and follow-ups to ensure accurate pipeline tracking and reporting.
· Help monitor basic performance metrics (e.g., response rates, meeting conversion) and support simple reporting tasks.
Proposal & Sales Operations Support
· Provide basic support to proposal writing and review efforts (e.g., assembling boilerplate sections, formatting, organizing figures/tables, checking alignment with client requirements).
· Assist in organizing past performance artifacts, case studies, and sales collateral for reuse in opportunities.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing (or recently completed) a
Bachelor's degree
in Business, Marketing, Communications, Engineering Management, or a related field. - Strong
written and verbal communication
skills, with the ability to write clear, professional messages and summaries. - Demonstrated
attention to detail
and ability to stay organized across multiple tasks, leads, and follow-ups. - Comfortable learning and using digital tools such as CRM systems, online research platforms, and outreach tools (e.g., LinkedIn, email sequencing tools).
- Interest in safety, training, industrial/operational environments, or defense-related markets.
- Ability to work independently with guidance and to ask clarifying questions when needed.
