Position Summary
We are seeking a Customer Service Representative to support our client's logistics department. This role handles booking and clearing inbound/outbound ocean and air shipments, preparing documents, coordinating cargo release, and assisting with billing.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and release cargo using manifests, Bills of Lading, and Airway Bills.
- Notify consignees of shipment arrival, customs requirements, cargo availability, and any demurrage charges.
- Generate reports using information from shipping documents.
- Prepare billing reports for the accounting department.
- Collect cargo details from shippers to determine shipment allocation and capacity.
- Coordinate cargo space with ocean carriers and airlines.
- Provide customers with shipping updates and delivery information.
- Prepare letters, correspondence, and customer quotes.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1–3 months of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to read and interpret shipping tariffs and legal documents.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Able to operate standard office equipment (copier, fax, calculator, etc.).
- Able to handle frequent interruptions and shifting priorities.
- Must be flexible to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Must be a current Guam resident
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Authorized to work in the United States.
