Position Overview
The Repairs & Maintenance (R&M) Technician is responsible for ensuring all H&H Hospitality restaurant locations remain safe, operational, and guest-ready at all times. This role supports daily restaurant operations through preventative maintenance, timely repairs, and facilities oversight across multiple brands and high-volume environments.
The R&M Technician plays a critical role in minimizing downtime, maintaining compliance with airport and health authority requirements, and protecting the long-term condition of company assets.
Key ResponsibilitiesPreventative Maintenance
- Execute routine preventative maintenance on commercial kitchen equipment, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Perform scheduled facility walk-throughs to identify and address maintenance issues proactively.
- Maintain preventative maintenance logs, service records, and repair documentation.
- Support ongoing compliance with DOA, health department, safety, and operational standards.
Repairs & Troubleshooting
- Respond to maintenance requests and urgent repair needs across multiple restaurant locations.
- Diagnose equipment and facility issues quickly and accurately to reduce operational disruptions.
- Perform general repairs including basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, fixtures, flooring, and wall repairs.
- Coordinate with approved vendors for specialized repairs beyond internal scope.
Facilities & Equipment Support
- Assist with installation, removal, and relocation of equipment.
- Support new restaurant openings, remodels, refreshes, and equipment upgrades.
- Ensure all equipment and facilities meet safety and performance standards.
- Maintain back-of-house areas, storage spaces, and service corridors.
Safety, Compliance & Standards
- Follow all safety protocols, airport authority regulations, and H&H Hospitality policies.
- Identify, report, and correct safety hazards in a timely manner.
- Support fire safety systems, emergency preparedness, and incident prevention.
- Adhere to proper lock-out/tag-out procedures when applicable.
Communication & Documentation
- Communicate repair status, timelines, and needs clearly with General Managers and Operations leadership.
- Accurately document all work orders, repairs, and vendor interactions.
- Assist leadership with maintenance planning, cost control, and prioritization.
QualificationsRequired
- 2–5 years of experience in restaurant, facilities, or commercial maintenance.
- Working knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment and restaurant operations.
- Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repairs.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume environments.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass airport badging and background requirements.
Preferred
- Experience supporting airport-based or multi-unit restaurant operations.
- OSHA or safety-related certifications.
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs or work order systems.
- HVAC, electrical, or refrigeration certification.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb ladders for extended periods.
- Ability to work in kitchen, mechanical, and storage environments.
Compensation
- Annual Salary: $50,000
- Hourly Equivalent: ~$24.04/hour (based on 40 hours/week)
- Overtime Eligible: Yes, in accordance with applicable laws
