Position Summary
The Production Planner is responsible for creating, maintaining, and optimizing production schedules to ensure on-time delivery, efficient resource utilization, and accurate material planning. This role supports day-to-day operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and requires strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure. Experience with ERP systems is essential, with Oracle NetSuite experience considered a major plus. Food industry background is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules aligned with customer demand and capacity constraints.
- Monitor work orders, material availability, and production flow to prevent delays and bottlenecks.
- Analyze inventory levels to ensure proper material planning and minimize shortages or excess.
- Collaborate with Production, Purchasing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to coordinate priorities and resolve scheduling conflicts.
- Review and adjust schedules based on changing customer requirements or operational disruptions.
- Generate and maintain accurate data and reports within the ERP system.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing production efficiency, reducing waste, and improving accuracy.
- Provide clear communication of schedule changes to all stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- 2–3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (food industry preferred).
- Hands-on ERP experience—Oracle NetSuite is a significant plus.
- Strong understanding of production processes, material planning, and capacity management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and cross-functional collaboration ability.
- Proficient in MS Excel and reporting/analysis tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in food manufacturing, cGMP environments, or high-mix/fast-paced production.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or supply chain best practices.
