The Dietary Cook is responsible for preparing meals in accordance with prescribed dietary requirements and resident preferences. This role plays a vital part in maintaining the health and satisfaction of our residents through safe, sanitary, and high-quality food service.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals following standardized recipes and dietary guidelines.
- Ensure food is served at proper temperatures and in an appealing manner.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and food storage areas.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Collaborate with dietary aides and other staff to ensure smooth meal service.
- Accommodate special dietary needs and restrictions as directed by the dietary manager or healthcare team.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous cooking experience in a healthcare or institutional setting strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and dietary regulations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- ServSafe certification is a plus.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $ $14.00 per hour
