Position Overview:
As a Head Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for learning our menu, butchering fish delivery and maintaining all sauces and prep ingredients. This is a full-time position with a starting pay of $25/hr or salary along with a share of the tip-out (depending on experience). The position requires roughly 40 hours per week.
Schedule: 5 days/ week.
Must be available to work Fri/Sat/Sun
Responsibilities:
Food Presentation: Create visually appealing and aesthetically pleasing sushi presentations that showcase both creativity and precision.
Inventory Management: Monitor ingredient inventory levels and communicate with the management team to ensure timely restocking and prevent shortages or wastage.
Customer Interaction: Interact with customers at the sushi bar, take special requests, and provide recommendations, ensuring a memorable dining experience.
Qualifications:
Culinary Expertise: A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Sushi Chef in a reputable restaurant
Food Safety and Hygiene: Current Oregon Food Handler permit
The ability to stand for extended periods, as well as the ability to lift heavy objects, up to 50lbs.
Prep work: Ensuring the sushi bar is accurately prepped to minimize waste, uphold quality, and ensure smooth service.
