Job Summary
The Access Control Specialist is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of security systems, including access control systems, CCTV, and alarm systems. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and hands-on skills to ensure the effective operation of security measures. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and experience in field service, along with a solid understanding of computer networking and low voltage systems. Must be able to install conduit.

Responsibilities

  • Install conduit.
  • Install and configure access control systems, including hardware and software components.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on security systems such as CCTV, fire alarms, and intrusion detection systems (IDS).
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools to execute installations and repairs effectively.
  • Read and interpret schematics to understand system designs for security installations.
  • Collaborate with clients to assess their security needs and provide solutions tailored to their requirements.
  • Conduct field service visits to address customer concerns regarding system performance or functionality.
  • Maintain accurate records of service calls, installations, and repairs performed.
  • Stay updated on industry trends related to security technology, including advancements in remote access software and telecommunications.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in service technician roles related to security systems or similar fields.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools.
  • Familiarity with computer hardware, networking concepts, and low voltage electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of alarm system sales techniques is a plus.
  • Experience with cabling for security installations is preferred.
  • Understanding of construction principles as they relate to installation environments.
  • Proficiency in working with various sensors, surveillance equipment, and locksmithing techniques.
  • Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC) is advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to quality work while ensuring the highest standards of safety are maintained during all operations. The Access Control Specialist plays a critical role in safeguarding client assets through effective security solutions.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract, Temporary, Temp-to-hire

Pay: $ $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 40 per week
