Job Summary
The Access Control Specialist is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of security systems, including access control systems, CCTV, and alarm systems. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and hands-on skills to ensure the effective operation of security measures. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and experience in field service, along with a solid understanding of computer networking and low voltage systems. Must be able to install conduit.
Responsibilities
- Install conduit.
- Install and configure access control systems, including hardware and software components.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on security systems such as CCTV, fire alarms, and intrusion detection systems (IDS).
- Utilize hand tools and power tools to execute installations and repairs effectively.
- Read and interpret schematics to understand system designs for security installations.
- Collaborate with clients to assess their security needs and provide solutions tailored to their requirements.
- Conduct field service visits to address customer concerns regarding system performance or functionality.
- Maintain accurate records of service calls, installations, and repairs performed.
- Stay updated on industry trends related to security technology, including advancements in remote access software and telecommunications.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in service technician roles related to security systems or similar fields.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools.
- Familiarity with computer hardware, networking concepts, and low voltage electrical systems.
- Knowledge of alarm system sales techniques is a plus.
- Experience with cabling for security installations is preferred.
- Understanding of construction principles as they relate to installation environments.
- Proficiency in working with various sensors, surveillance equipment, and locksmithing techniques.
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC) is advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to quality work while ensuring the highest standards of safety are maintained during all operations. The Access Control Specialist plays a critical role in safeguarding client assets through effective security solutions.

Pay: $ $50.00 per hour
