This position ensures that all procedural appointments are accurately booked, taking into account patient needs, physician availability, and resource allocation to optimize operational flow. The Procedure Scheduler acts as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and administrative staff to facilitate clear communication and timely scheduling. By managing appointment logistics and maintaining detailed records, this role directly contributes to enhancing patient satisfaction and supporting clinical teams in delivering high-quality care. Ultimately, the Procedure Scheduler helps to streamline procedural workflows, reduce wait times, and improve overall healthcare service efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred.
- Previous experience in medical scheduling, healthcare administration, or a related field.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare procedures.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and scheduling software.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in medical office administration or healthcare scheduling (e.g., Certified Medical Administrative Assistant).
- Experience working in a hospital, outpatient clinic, or specialty medical practice.
- Knowledge of insurance verification and pre-authorization processes.
