The ideal candidate should have a solid background in data modeling, database design, and data architecture. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and implementing strong data models that ensure data integrity, scalability, and optimal performance across a range of systems and applications.

Vacancy

Who you are

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a closely related field. A Master's degree is an added advantage.
  • Over 15 years of experience in data modeling, database design, and data architecture.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Data Vault and Kimball modeling.
  • Experienced in working with both relational and non-relational databases (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
  • Hands-on experience with data warehousing solutions, data lakes, and big data technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling techniques, including Entity-Relationship (ER) modeling and dimensional modeling.
  • Proficient in SQL and various database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL).
  • Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and metadata management best practices.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their data services is a plus.

Your tasks

  • Data Modeling: Design and create conceptual, logical, and physical data models that align with business processes and technical requirements.
  • Database Design: Collaborate with database administrators, data engineers, and software developers to translate data models into physical database implementations.
  • Data Integration: Partner with data engineers and ETL developers to ensure smooth integration of data from multiple sources into the data warehouse.
  • Data Architecture: Establish and maintain data architecture standards, focusing on consistency, scalability, and reusability across all data models.
  • Metadata Management: Document data models and manage metadata repositories to support data governance and facilitate easy data discovery.
  • Data Quality: Collaborate with data governance teams to implement data quality standards, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
  • Performance Tuning: Enhance database performance by optimizing data models, indexing strategies, and query execution.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders, analysts, and technical teams to gather data requirements and provide solutions that fulfill business needs.
  • Technology Evaluation: Keep abreast of the latest trends and tools in data modeling, database management, and data architecture to recommend best practices and innovative solutions.
