We’re expanding our team and seeking a Sales Engineer to bridge technical expertise with customer‑centric consulting across our full ecosystem of solutions.
Position Overview The Sales Engineer plays a pivotal role in understanding customer challenges, designing tailored technology solutions, and supporting the sales lifecycle with technical credibility. This role combines deep technical knowledge with consultative selling to recommend ProTelesis offerings such as cloud communications, secure networking, cybersecurity testing, managed services, and IT infrastructure solutions.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who thrives on problem‑solving, translating complex systems into compelling value propositions for decision‑makers in IT, operations, and security.
Key Responsibilities Pre‑Sales Discovery & Consultative Engagement
Lead technical discovery sessions to understand customer infrastructure, security posture, communications workflows, and business goals.
Identify opportunities to align ProTelesis services such as Intermedia UCaaS/CCaaS, Mitel solutions, network circuits, cybersecurity testing, and managed IT support.
Assist sales teams in scoping, solution positioning, and proposal creation.
Technical Presentations & Demonstrations
Deliver tailored demonstrations of cloud voice systems, unified communications workflows, security assessments, or managed support services.
Clearly articulate technical features, deployment options, and business outcomes to both technical and executive audiences.
Build confidence with IT directors, CIOs, CISOs, and operations leaders through clarity and expertise.
Solution Architecture & Design
Develop solution architectures including UC/CC deployments, network circuit recommendations, cybersecurity testing packages, physical security integrations, and AV setups.
Work with engineering teams to validate designs, implementation timelines, and client expectations.
Provide best‑practice guidance around cloud migration, security hardening, unified communications, and infrastructure resilience.
Technical Stewardship Throughout the Sales Cycle
Serve as a trusted advisor from discovery through kickoff, ensuring seamless handoff to implementation teams.
Address technical objections, clarify product capabilities, and ensure solution alignment with customer environments.
Support RFP/RFI responses with detailed technical input.
Cross‑Team Collaboration
Work closely with Sales, Project Management, and Engineering to maintain unified messaging and solution accuracy.
Contribute to the creation of technical playbooks, solution briefs, and demo environments.
Provide product and market feedback to leadership to help guide future offerings.
Qualifications Required
2–5+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Architecture, or Technical Consulting.
Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud communications, networking, or cybersecurity.
Ability to translate technical material for non‑technical stakeholders.
Strong communication and presentation skills with experience speaking to IT leadership.
Collaborative mindset with excellent problem‑solving abilities.
Preferred
Experience with Intermedia, Mitel, or other UC/CCaaS platforms.
Familiarity with cybersecurity services such as penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, or SOC operations.
Background in carrier services, network circuit architecture, or WAN/LAN environments.
Experience supporting AV/physical security deployments (access control, cameras, conference room AV).
Prior experience in MSP, telecom, or IT services environments.
