Project Manager

This role will partner with Domain Leads, Chief Product Owners and other leaders to identify impacting areas and key stakeholders required to participate so that delivery of the initiative is successful. The ideal candidate will have excellent business knowledge of the financial services industry, preferably with a focus on Operations or Technology, to enable effective facilitation, coordination and issue and risk management. This role requires going onsite 3x/week.

Responsibilities:
  • Project Management Execution
  • Partner with Domain Leads, Chief Product Owners and other leaders to identify impacting areas and key stakeholders required to participate so that delivery of the initiative is successful
  • Work with project leads and team to develop the workstream structure, agree to governance, and define project communication, etc.
  • Partner with IT, Product, and Business Unit Leads to document scope, create resource estimates and roadmap
  • Manage and coordinate efforts among cross-functional teams as needed promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing
  • Facilitate team and workstream discussions, while actively managing action items, risks, and dependencies
  • Project Governance & Communication (out of scope items noted at bottom)
  • Partner with IT, Product, and Business Unit Leads to provide required status reporting to ensure transparency
  • Build relationships across the organization so that they can effectively navigate coordination to support initiative needs
  • Escalate risks and impediments to stakeholders (as needed)
  • Project Financial & Resource Management
  • Oversee financial management for the initiative
  • Coordinate with IT, Product, and Business Unit Leads to ensure proper prioritization of work to meet required timeframes
  • Project Manager provides health status of the initiative based on scope, time and cost
  • Project Manager facilitates the discussion and ensures decision making is timely and/or escalated (as needed)
  • Project Managers will partner with, not replace, Scrum Masters who will facilitate Agile Ceremonies
  • Execution teams are responsible for coordinating deployments (not the Project Manager)
Qualifications:
  • Experience leading large cross organization initiatives through the entire lifecycle
  • Experience building a unified communication platform to be consumed by all levels of management
  • Excellent business knowledge of the financial services industry, preferably with a focus on Operations or Technology, to enable effective facilitation, coordination and issue and risk management
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on collaboration
  • Familiarity with the Agile framework and supporting tools such as Jira, Confluence and Aha Roadmaps to effectively partner with delivery teams
