Required Qualifications
Surgical Assistant/Surgical First Assistant, OR Certifications: CERT-NBSTSA- CST
BLS
CERT-NCCSA-CSA SSN Required DOB Required MUST HAVE KENTUCKY LICENSE in hand to be considered. A Surgical First Assistant RN in Kentucky is an advanced operating room professional who directly supports surgeons by performing crucial tasks such as suturing, providing exposure, and controlling bleeding. The profession requires specialized credentialing and specific state certification to practice. [1, 2] Certification & Licensing To practice legally in the state, first assists must hold and maintain credentialing through either the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or the National Commission for the Certification of Surgical Assistants (NCCSA). Once certified, applicants must apply for a formal Surgical Assistant Certification through the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure. two years of exp and prior travel required About Company
