Patient Handoff & Rounds: Receive patient reports from outgoing CNA; conduct hourly rounds, checking vitals, maintaining whiteboard info, and assisting with care. Mobility & Transport: Assist with patient ambulation (e.g., to recliners, bathroom, or down halls) and safely transport discharged patients to vehicles. Personal Care: Assist patients with hygiene needs, including full or assisted bed baths, or providing supplies for ambulatory patients. Clinical Support (under RN direction): Assist bedside nurses with procedures (e.g., tube insertions) and wound care/dressing changes, including patient positioning, supply management, and cleanup. General Care & Documentation: Change bed linens, check patient weights, perform other assigned tasks, and document all care in the patient's record.
Contribution to Nursing Process (under Licensed Practitioner/RN/LPN Supervision):
Assessment: Contribute to health status assessment. Planning: Contribute to the care plan via observation, data collection, and communication. Implementation: Provide basic patient care as delegated. Evaluation: Contribute to evaluation through observation of responses and communication of findings.
Job Requirements:
Must be at least 16 years of age Successful Completion of the 75-hour state-approved Nursing Assistant course Active Nurse Aide (CNA) license in good standing in Nebraska Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association
