Blackstone Talent Group, an award‑winning technology consulting and talent agency is seeking a Network Engineer II to join our Client's team.
The Network Engineer II is responsible for the design, implementation, support, and optimization of enterprise network infrastructure across multiple locations. This role serves as a mid‑level engineer, handling complex network issues, contributing to projects, and ensuring high availability, performance, and security of network services.
Key Responsibilities Network Engineer & Support
Engineer II support for LAN/WAN, SD‑WAN, wireless, and firewall environments
Troubleshoot and resolve network incidents, outages, and performance issues
Monitor network performance, capacity, and availability using enterprise tools
Participate in on‑call rotation and incident response
Implementation & Engineering
Deploy and configure network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs)
Support site buildouts, relocations, and upgrades (MDF/IDF, circuits, redundancy)
Implement network changes following change management processes
Assist in standardizing configurations across multiple sites
Security & Compliance
Maintain and support firewalls, segmentation, and secure access controls
Ensure compliance with corporate security policies (e.g., MFA, NAC, Zero Trust)
Assist with vulnerability remediation and audit support (SOX, ISO, etc.)
Project Delivery
Participate in network‑related projects (cloud connectivity, tenant migrations, SD‑WAN rollout)
Work with vendors and service providers (e.g., ISPs, hardware vendors)
Document network designs, diagrams, and standard operating procedures
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability, and cost efficiency
Automate routine tasks where applicable
Contribute to long‑term network roadmap and architecture discussions
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
8+ years of hands‑on network engineering experience
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP)
Switching technologies (Layer 2/3)
Firewalls and VPN technologies
Experience with enterprise network hardware (e.g., Cisco, Fortinet, Aruba, Juniper)
Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with SD‑WAN technologies
Cloud networking experience (Azure, AWS)
Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, Fortinet NSE, Aruba or equivalent
Experience in multi‑site or manufacturing environments
Knowledge of network automation (Python, Ansible)
Key Competencies
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
Effective communication with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
Detail‑oriented with strong documentation skills
