Lead and supervise Research Animal Care Technicians across multiple levels Ensure exceptional standards of animal care and welfare Contribute to operations within a cutting-edge research institute environment
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and support Research Animal Care Technicians Assist in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training materials Ensure proper maintenance of animal room equipment Monitor recordkeeping and ensure compliance with all regulatory and departmental policies Support onboarding, training, and re-training of staff Assist with team scheduling and operational coordination
The Ideal Candidate
Demonstrated supervisory experience Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Experience in laboratory animal care Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively Professional communication skills with all levels of staff Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed Physically able to remain active and on your feet throughout the day
Credentials & Qualifications
Associate's degree + 5 years of animal care experience required OR High school diploma + 7 years of relevant experience LAT certification (AALAS) required LATG certification (AALAS) preferred (required within 2 years of hire) Minimum 3 years of experience in a research animal facility preferred Prior supervisory experience strongly preferred
