Complete 2000 hours of on-the-job training (paid work), 434 hours of online coursework, & clinical labs; Prepare for the national certification exam (Seattle Children's provides all training materials/supplies and national certification exam registration); and Continue employment at Seattle Children's for twelve (12) months as a Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) at a minimum 0.6 FTE after passing the national certification exam.
Responsibilities of the role: Observe and perform individualized patient procedures, treatments, and tests under the supervision of an Apprenticeship Coach as required by state apprenticeship program standards. Perform associated clerical tasks including chart preparation, stocking clinic supplies, and answering telephones. Provide assistance with medical clinic operations and monitoring of clinic flow. Perform other duties as assigned and maintain progress in all aspects of the apprenticeship program as required by state apprenticeship standards. Required Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent experience. Required Credentials Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS). Preferred Experience working in a healthcare setting. Experience in pediatric specialty care or urgent care environment. Compensation: Starting payrate for MA Apprenticeship is $25.30 Salary Information This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
