Position Summary
The Applications Analyst II is a business specialist and technology generalist responsible for aligning technology solutions with business strategies. The role requires proactively identifying opportunities to apply technologies to business processes by informing and advising customers on information system technologies’ functionality, costs, benefits, and implementation requirements. The Applications Analyst II acts as a technical liaison and broker of services with various vendors, developing and maintaining credibility and effective working relationships with both customer management and IT personnel. The position demands forward‑thinking individuals who seek opportunities to apply technology to improve business processes within strategic system goals. Essential Responsibilities / Duties
• Reviews and interprets federal regulations to develop solutions and mitigation strategies for implementation in the EHR systems. • Provides support to assigned customers in defining or designing business processes and identifying enabling technologies based on customer requirements. • Actively seeks ways to apply technology to business processes, researching and providing information on technical trends and competitors’ practices relevant to the assigned client business. • Assesses near‑term needs using structured interview processes to establish business priorities. • Consults with technical subject matter experts, develops alternative technical solutions, and advises on options, risks, costs versus benefits, and impacts on other business processes and system priorities. • Coordinates multi‑system solutions to clarify interdependencies and interfaces so that systems appear seamless to customers. • Aligns with other IT functional areas to remain apprised of project status and informs customer management of progress. • Keeps the IT group’s technology and service managers aware of user issues and potential hurdles, diagnosing, analyzing, and resolving software issues independently or by engaging appropriate parties. • Documents all aspects of the project plans (scope, definition, testing, delivery and support) and coordinates business/clinical and IT implementation resources for successful delivery. • Participates actively in the team environment, enabling colleagues to meet departmental objectives. • Conducts business process analyses, needs assessments, and preliminary cost‑versus‑benefit measurements; brokers other IT services and communicates trends and requirements to and from customers and IT. • Identifies opportunities to apply technologies to business processes and informs customers on information system technologies’ functionality, costs, benefits, and implementation requirements. • Performs other duties as assigned or required. Job Requirements
Education:
Associate’s degree (or equivalent combination of formal education and experience). Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience:
At least 2+ years in business systems analysis across multiple hardware and software platforms or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Certifications and Experience:
Epic proficiency or certification in Epic Research module; Beacon proficiency; Epic integration knowledge with external platforms; business process re‑engineering or process improvement experience; project planning and execution across vision through implementation with internal personnel, contractors, and vendors. Knowledge and Skills
• Knowledge of the assigned business area’s products and processes. • Strong technical knowledge and ability to express complex technical concepts in business‑friendly terms. • Understanding of project management concepts for planning and implementing multiple projects in a cross‑functional environment. • Strong written communication skills, including project documentation and technical writing. • Strong verbal communication skills while interacting with team members, other IT teams, end users, and other departments throughout the organization. • Strong analytical and conceptual skills; track record in new concept development for various projects and complex technical plans. • Ability to solve problems across multiple environments. • Understanding of how IT affects an organization and ability to link it to redesigned business processes. • Team player, flexible, friendly, congenial, and enthusiastic. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products. Compensation Range
The compensation range is $71,500.00 – $104,000.00, based on minimum job qualifications and considering education, experience, skills, certifications, and internal equity. Total compensation also includes benefits, discretionary annual bonuses and merit increases, Flexible Spending Accounts, 403(b) savings matches, paid time off, career advancement opportunities, and resources to support employee and family well‑being.
