Job Number 728224BR Description: WHAT WE'RE DOING Lockheed Martin is partnering with PG&E, Salesforce, and Wells Fargo to deliver EMBERPOINT™, an initiative designed to transform wildfire prevention, detection, and response across the United States.EMBERPOINT integrates artificial intelligence, advanced sensing technologies, real-time mission data, and cloud-based command-and-control capabilities to help detect fires earlier, improve operational coordination, and accelerate response and recovery efforts.To support this mission, Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems is seeking experienced Software Engineers to join our Unified HMI team within the Digital Production Environment. This effort is part of a unique Cross Business Area campaign that reflects our commitment to the OneLM strategy and the development of next-generation operational platforms.This position supports a full-time REMOTE telework arrangement, allowing employees to perform their work schedule remotely outside of a Lockheed Martin designated office or job site.THE WORK As a Software Engineer supporting the Unified HMI platform, you will help build modern, mission-focused systems that fuse AI/ML insights, real-time operational data, and cloud-native infrastructure into a cohesive operational environment.You will work across backend services, middleware, DevSecOps, cloud integration, and real-time data processing activities to support systems that enable the full Detection Prediction Response Recovery workflow.Key Responsibilities• Build backend and middleware services to ingest and process real-time sensor, telemetry, and AI/ML data streams. • Develop and maintain cloud-native applications and integrations leveraging AWS services and modern software architectures. • Support DevSecOps activities including CI/CD pipeline development, automated testing, and deployment processes. • Develop unit, integration, and automation tests to validate functionality and system performance. • Participate in Agile and SAFe development activities including PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, and System Demonstrations. • Collaborate with architects, AI/ML engineers, software developers, and stakeholders to ensure solutions support operational workflows and mission objectives. • Produce technical documentation including design specifications, API documentation, and implementation guidance.WHO WE ARE The Unified HMI team is developing next-generation command-and-control operator environments that combine advanced analytics, AI/ML capabilities, and cloud-based data platforms into intuitive operational experiences.Our teams work at the intersection of software engineering, cloud infrastructure, and mission systems integration to deliver scalable solutions that support real-time operational decision making.We value innovation, collaboration, technical excellence, and the ability to solve complex problems in fast-paced environments.WHO YOU ARE You are a software engineer who enjoys building modern applications that integrate real-time data, cloud technologies, and operational systems. You are comfortable working across backend, middleware, and cloud-native technologies and enjoy collaborating in agile development environments.You are motivated by solving challenging technical problems, delivering high-quality solutions, and contributing to systems that have meaningful operational impact.You thrive in fast-paced teams, communicate effectively across disciplines, and bring a strong sense of ownership to your work.Basic Qualifications:- B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field (M.S. preferred). - 8+ years professional software development; - Proficiency in C++ or C#, or Python Strong experience with React or Angular, UI-state management (Redux, NgRx), and WebGL/Three.js for 3-D visualizations. - Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps) and using static/dynamic security tooling. - Experience with Unit test frameworks and UI-automationAgile/SAFe execution, JIRA/Confluence, and ability to produce clear technical documentation.Desired Skills:- Prior work on C2/Command-and-Control or operator console systems for aerospace, cyber-defense, or critical infrastructure. - Hands-on data integration experience with Kafka, MQTT, AWS Kinesis/AppSync, REST/GraphQL, and experience handling high-velocity streaming data. - Experience with AWS services and Infrastructure-as-Code.- Familiarity with MBSE tools (Cameo DOORS NEXT) and the ability to surface model-derived data in the UI. - Background in AI/ML explainability visualizations integrated into the operator dashboard. - Experience with streaming real-time video.- Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, IAAP CPACC (accessibility), or CISSP (security).Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.Clearance Level: Secret Other Important Information You Should Know Expression of Interest: By applying to this job, you are expressing interest in this position and could be considered for other career opportunities where similar skills and requirements have been identified as a match. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per weekPay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $160,500 - $278,300. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays.
