Position Summary:
This position assists patients with the activities of daily living and provides basic nursing care to assigned patients.
Performs admission duties upon patient arrival to the unit.
Orients patient/families to room
Obtains and records patients' vital signs as required
Assists with basic personal care needs including but not limited to bathing, providing nourishments, and overall personal care.
Responds to call lights
Transports patients via wheelchair or stretcher
Performs transfer and discharge procedures
Operates/maintains equipment in designated area(s)
Maintains skill competence and ongoing required education
Minimum Education
High school diploma or equivalent - Required
Required Skills:
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Ability to understand, communicate, and react effectively to patient and family needs. Excellent customer service skills. Strong critical thinking.
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) required, or obtained during first week of hire
Current/Active NC Nurse Assistant license (1 and/or II) - required
