The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc. This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. There may be more than one opening on this posting./ph3Job Summary/h3pAssists professional nursing personnel in providing quality, compassionate patient care by performing tasks involving direct and indirect patient care, using skills and knowledge in basic nursing assistant procedures and techniques under direction and supervision of a registered nurse./ph3Details of the Position/h3ulliAssist in providing direct patient care as delegated by the Registered Nurse within the scope of the CNA licensure./liliPerform basic technical skills which may include: CPR; taking and recording vital signs; measuring and recording fluid intake/output; applying dressings; recognizing and reporting signs and symptoms of common diseases or conditions; administering treatments as directed by a physician or nurse./liliAssist patient with personal care which may include: bathing; mouth and skin care; grooming and dressing; toileting assistance; eating and hydration./liliProvide patients with help walking, exercising, and moving in and out of bed./liliMaintain unit supplies by stocking patient rooms and supply areas to meet patient care needs./liliDocuments relevant patient care data/liliMay provide clerical support to the unit; doing order entry, chart processing, answering telephones, etc./liliMay be required to complete required CareConnect training to assist with Coordination of Patient Transport./liliPerforms other duties as assigned./li/ulh3Experience/h3ulliMinimum of 1 year Preferred: experience in an acute care facility/liliRequired: Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patients needs/li/ulh3Credentials/h3ulliRequired: Certified Nurse Assistant - Washington/liliRequired: Upon Hire Basic Life Support/li/ulh3Skills/h3ulliDemonstrates a courteous, caring, and understanding attitude towards patients, families, co-workers, visitors, volunteers, peers, and physicians. (Required)/liliMust be well organized, flexible and able to function effectively and independently as assigned. (Required)/liliAbility to work in a fast-paced environment (Required)/liliDemonstrates creative problem-solving skills. (Required)/liliExcellent communication skills (Required)/liliBasic computer, clerical, phone etiquette and customer service skills (Required)/li/ulh3Working Conditions/h3h4Lifting/h4ulliPatient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH)./liliFine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures./liliPush/Pull: Frequently up to 45 lbs. force (i.e., WOW, medical carts)./liliPerform hands on CPR at least 20 mins using 100-125 lbs. of force (National Assoc. of EMS Physicians and AHA) Frequency should be seldom or occasionally./liliAbility to move around area with frequent sitting./liliBending/ stooping/ squatting/ reaching/ kneeling frequently./liliLifting (non-patient) up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently./li/ulh4Environmental Conditions/h4ulliExposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles./liliMust be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment./li/ulh4Mental/Visual/h4ulliVision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted)./liliAbility to communicate and exchange accurate information./li/ulpPeaceHealth is committed to the overall wellbeing of our caregivers: physical, emotional, financial, social, and spiritual.
