About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Director, Clinical Development Therapeutic Area Head with a focus on cardiorenal. The successful candidate will be responsible for advancing clinical programs in diabetes and related chronic disease areas, contributing to therapeutic area strategy, and integrating clinical, scientific, and competitive insights into pipeline prioritization and lifecycle planning. This role involves leading the design of Phase 1-4 clinical trials, engaging with internal and external experts to refine study rationale, and ensuring that protocols are scientifically rigorous and aligned with regulatory expectations. The Executive Director will also be involved in overseeing the execution of clinical programs, contributing to safety strategy, and driving regulatory strategy, including key submissions and health authority interactions. Applicants for this role at the company should have a minimum of 5 years' clinical development and/or medical affairs experience in the industry, with an M.D. required. Clinical training and practice experience, particularly in cardiology, critical care, or nephrology, is preferred. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in shaping and executing lifecycle strategy for a portfolio, ensuring alignment with scientific platforms and enterprise objectives. They should be adept at partnering cross-functionally with commercial, market access, and business development teams to support evidence-based differentiation and access strategy. Additionally, the role requires the ability to mentor medical colleagues, contribute to governance and portfolio decisions, and support the development of a high-performing scientific organization.
