Über
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair marine electrical systems aboard ships and vessels
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
- Perform cable pulling, terminations, testing, and equipment hookups
- Troubleshoot motors, control panels, switchboards, lighting systems, and power distribution systems
- Inspect and repair electrical components during ship repair and overhaul projects
- Use electrical testing equipment including multimeters, megohmmeters, and continuity testers
- Ensure all work complies with shipyard safety standards, NAVSEA requirements, and applicable electrical codes
- Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and other trades during repair operations
- Perform work in confined spaces, aboard vessels, and in industrial shipyard environments
- Maintain clean and organized work areas while meeting production schedules
- Minimum of 5+ years of marine electrical or ship repair experience
- Experience working aboard naval, commercial, or government vessels
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings
- Strong troubleshooting and repair skills
- Knowledge of marine electrical systems, AC/DC circuits, motors, generators, and control systems
- Experience with shipboard cableway installations and terminations preferred
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must be able to pass background screening and drug testing
- OSHA 10/30, CPR, First Aid, or marine certifications are a plus
