Sales Director - Data Centers , is responsible for formulating and executing the business strategy to build the data centers business. Key responsibilities: Define and implement a segment growth strategy for the Datacenter market, for both liquid and air cooling. Create and execute the business plan, in line with the Americas Strategic Plan and budget targets.
Build solid relationships with customers, vendors, and distributors, as well as the sales and marketing teams. Lead business development and client relationship management teams. Understand industry dynamics, decision-making process and decision makers on product specification and buying decisions. Work collaboratively with Regional and Global Sales and Product Line Management leaders on new opportunities and needs of our customers. Technology trends/technology shifts - understand how the industry requirements are changing and translate how it affects the utilization of Gates products (for example: immersion cooling, direct to chip cooling). Developing and strengthening internal and external relationships that will lead to increased lead generation and market share. Fostering and working to maintain an entrepreneurial growth culture throughout the company and across all teams and work functions. Monitor key competitors' performance; compare to our own performance and draw conclusions on areas of growth opportunities and/or identify competitive threats to the business. Drive marketing efforts and market awareness of Gates Fluid Power and Power Transmission portfolio for different Data Center customers and Cooling Solution OEM, and Integrators. Direct efforts to identify and map key players in the decision-making chain (Engineering Firm /Consultants /Owner & operators of data center and crypto sites / Developers & Integrators). Assessing sales and marketing as well as supplier and vendor operations and recommending improvements as needed. Coordinating required efforts to respond to requests for proposals (RFPs). Developing and managing strategic partnerships to grow business. Presenting business or marketing opportunities to company executives and management.
Requirements and Preferred Skills You will have a successful track record of understanding the business, their priorities and what drives them. You will be innovative, focused on process improvement and enjoy working with a global team. In addition to strong organizational and communication skills, you should be team and customer focused and able to cultivate business relationships across the organization. Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or Engineering. Master's Degree a plus.
Minimum 15 years' experienceof progressive experience in sales or marketing. Demonstrated experience leading a sales team and growing sales in the Datacenter industry.
Existing network at leading companies in the Datacenter industry including Server OEM's, Cooling OEM's, Hyperscalers, Integrators, MEP Consultants, Engineering Firms and Contractors. Significant knowledge of the industrial supply chain and leading companies supporting the infrastructure growth of Datacenters. An expert in the Data Center segment, including a deep understanding of the segment's technical process needs and challenges. An understanding of cooling technologies and trends in the liquid and air cooling market. Strong planning and organizational skills. Proactive behavior. Results oriented. Excellent communicator, both oral and written. Must possess the ability to design and conduct presentations. Technical knowledge is considered an asset along with the ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience in a clear and concise manner. Excellent time management and organizational skills along with strong attention to detail. Strong relationship building and relationship management skills across functions and organizational levels. Excellent active listening and communication skills. Well-developed leadership skills and proven ability to work successfully within a matrix environment. Proficient MS Office skills. Experience with CRM software and how to effectively utilize within a sales organization. Languages: English, additional language(s) considered an asset. Travel: 40% or more.
