leads the design, governance, and continuous improvement of data systems, analytics tools, and performance reporting infrastructure for Acelero, Inc. This role ensures that the organization’s data practices promote transparency, compliance, equity, and strategic decision-making. The Director manages a centralized team responsible for dashboard development, recurring and ad hoc reporting, and the integration of data systems across the organization. Working across the Acelero Learning delegates and Shine Early Learning partners, the Senior Director partners with local leaders, the Performance Implementation & Impact Services (PIIS) team, other divisions, departments, Product, and IT to ensure the availability, accuracy, and usability of critical performance data. This leader also stewards data governance and standardization efforts that power operational excellence and accountability across internal and external stakeholders. What You’ll Do: Lead Data Governance & Infrastructure:
Establish and oversee data governance frameworks, infrastructure, and lifecycle systems in partnership with IT to ensure data quality, privacy, and usability across platforms. Oversee Dashboards & Analytics:
Manage the development and continuous improvement of internal and external dashboards, recurring reports, and analytics tools that support real-time, strategic decision-making. Translate Data into Insights:
Provide executive-ready reports and actionable insights to drive performance management, compliance tracking, and strategic planning. Ensure Compliance & Reporting:
Lead timely and accurate submission of Head Start and federal data reports, including PIR, monitoring reviews, and enrollment dashboards. Support Delegate Engagement:
Serve as a key liaison to delegate leaders, governing bodies, and advisory councils, providing strategic performance insights and data-driven recommendations. Collaborate Cross-Functionally:
Work with cross-departmental teams (e.g., PIIS, Policy, Program) to align data systems with implementation, compliance, and operational priorities. Standardize Data Practices:
Lead the development of SOPs, data dictionaries, reporting templates, and KPIs to ensure consistency and clarity across the organization. Build Data Capacity:
Provide coaching, training, and technical support to staff and partners to enhance data literacy and ensure effective use of dashboards and reporting tools. Drive Continuous Improvement:
Use data to identify performance trends, risks, and opportunities, and partner with monitoring and compliance teams to address findings. Manage & Develop Teams:
Supervise a high-performing data team, ensuring clear goal setting, professional development, feedback systems, and alignment with strategic priorities. What You Bring: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in data science, analytics, education policy, or related field is a strong asset. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in data analytics, performance management, or systems leadership. At least three (3) years in a management or supervisory role, including leading cross-functional data teams. Head Start, early education, public sector, or human services data experience is highly valued. Advanced skills in data visualization, dashboard development, and performance reporting (e.g., Google Looker Studio, Tableau, Power BI, etc.). Proficiency in tools and languages such as SQL, Google Sheets, Google Apps Script, Excel, R, or Python for analysis and automation. Experience working with RESTful APIs and integrating systems/platforms. Demonstrated proficiency in using AI tools to develop and support data analysis, automate workflows, and enhance performance insights. Travel required for work-related meetings, training, and partner support. When/Where/How Much: When:
