About the Role
Role Title: Project Manager
Work Structure: Remote, Contract
Positions to Be Filled: 3
The Project Manager is an independent subcontractor who is responsible for coordinating day-to-day project execution, managing schedules, deliverables, and communications across complex public sector engagements. This role ensures projects remain on track by organizing team activities, supporting client coordination, and maintaining clear documentation and status reporting. The Project Manager works with the project team to help manage the team’s progress and ensure the development of deliverables.
Work under this subcontract will begin only upon contract award and issuance of the official notice to proceed.
Key Responsibilities
Management of large-scale public sector projects
Partner with project team to align the implementation of the project work plan with the client’s vision and project goals
Manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables across multi-phase engagements
Maintain and implement detailed work plans, schedules, and task trackers
Coordinate internal project team members and subcontractor roles
Serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day project logistics
Schedule and coordinate meetings, interviews, workshops, and briefings with employees, staff and leadership
Track deliverable progress and flag risks, dependencies, or scope issues
Maintain project documentation, notes, and version control
Prepare regular status updates for the Project Director and Client
Support quality control by ensuring deliverables align with scope and requirements
Assist the project team with staying on task in the development of plans and deliverables that align with long-term organizational growth and strategic sustainability plans
Maintain clear, professional communication with key stakeholders
Expected to attend client meetings
Work with minimal supervision
Additional related tasks may be assigned
Skills Needed
Ability to manage large-scale public sector projects
Professional temperament
Able to work individually and with a team
Understanding of cross-functional and cross-team collaboration
Knowledge of developing and analyzing surveys, timelines, and documentation
Ability to analyze and optimize resource allocation
Ability to meet deadlines
Ability to multi-task
Experience or familiarity with collaborative work spaces such as Google Workspace and SharePoint, and project management tools such as Asana, Monday.com, Jira, etc.
Experience using Microsoft and Google programs, such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Google Docs and Google Sheets
Qualifications
3+ years experience in a project management position
Ability to manage large-scale public sector projects
Experience with governmental agencies and/or nonprofit organizations
Experience or familiarity with collaborative work spaces such as Google Workspace and SharePoint, and project management tools such as Asana, Monday.com, Jira, etc.
Experience using Microsoft and Google programs, such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Google Docs and Google Sheets
Skilled in communicating with diverse stakeholders across all levels of an organization
Professional communication skills
Ability to receive feedback gracefully
Understanding of how to apply feedback effectively
Courage to ask questions when unsure
Requirements
3+ years experience in a project management position
Ability to manage large-scale public sector projects
Experience or familiarity with collaborative work spaces such as Google Workspace and SharePoint, and project management tools such as Asana, Monday.com, Jira, etc.
Experience using Microsoft and Google programs, such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Google Docs and Google Sheets
Candidate must own a laptop or desktop computer with reliable internet access
Possess a professional demeanor

Compensation
This engagement is structured as an independent contract and is not classified as hourly, salaried, or employment. A fixed compensation will be per project, and according to pre-approved rates outlined in the contract [addendum].
This is a contract engagement, and the selected contractor will be required to sign a Subcontractor Agreement. As an independent contractor, this engagement does not include employee benefits. The contractor is responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and business expenses. The Contractor will receive financial compensation for work produced for pre-approved projects or pre-approved deliverables, as per the signed contract.
The contractor will gain valuable, career‑enhancing experience and will receive performance‑based recommendations reflecting successful project outcomes.
