*Position Overview*
Sourced Intelligence is hiring a Junior Network and IT Technician to support our managed service and digital protection operations. This is an entry-level, in-person role designed for someone early in their IT career who wants hands-on exposure to enterprise networking, Palo Alto Networks firewalls, and the full range of work that goes into running a modern IT environment. You will spend most of your time supporting our internal team — endpoints, accounts, conferencing, day-to-day IT issues — while shadowing and assisting senior engineers on client deployments and on-site work. This is a structured learning role. You will not be asked to lead client engagements on day one. You will be asked to be curious, dependable, professional, and willing to grow.
_*Responsibilities:*_
*Internal IT Support*
* Provide first-line IT support to the Sourced Intelligence team across Windows, macOS, and mobile endpoints
* Handle account, mailbox, MFA, and access requests in Google Workspace and adjacent platforms
* Set up new-hire laptops: imaging, baseline configuration, MDM enrollment, and onboarding handoff
* Maintain inventory of company hardware, software licenses, and field kit equipment
* Support internal communications platforms (voice, video, chat, conferencing) and resolve day-to-day issues
* Open, document, and track tickets through resolution; write clear runbook entries for recurring issues
*Networking and Field Work*
* Shadow senior engineers on Palo Alto Networks firewall installations and client network deployments
* Assist with cable runs, switch and access point configuration, and post-install validation
* Run basic network troubleshooting: cable tests, link/PoE checks, DHCP/DNS lookups, traceroute, simple packet captures
* Help maintain client documentation; IP plans, topology diagrams, change logs, under senior review
* Build a working knowledge of PAN-OS, GlobalProtect VPN, VLANs, and basic firewall rule logic over your first 6 to 12 months
*Professional Conduct*
* Represent Sourced Intelligence professionally on the rare occasions you are at a client site solo
* Maintain discretion regarding everything you see and hear in client environments
* Communicate clearly, in writing and in person, with teammates and clients
*Qualifications*
* 1 to 3 years of professional IT experience. Internships, military IT/comms experience, SkillBridge placements, and structured IT training programs count
* CompTIA A+ or Network+ certification (or equivalent e.g., Cisco CCST, Microsoft 365 Fundamentals)
* Working knowledge of TCP/IP basics, DNS, DHCP, common ports, and how a packet gets from a laptop to the internet
* Comfort supporting Windows and macOS endpoints, installing software, and resolving common user issues
* Familiarity with at least one of: Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, or similar cloud productivity suite
* Strong written and verbal communication. You can explain a problem to a non-technical teammate without making them feel small
* Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel up to 25% within the DC metro area
* U.S. citizenship required due to CMMC and government contract compliance obligations. Note: Sourced Intelligence does not currently hold or sponsor security clearances
*Additional Skillsets*
* Both A+ and Network+ certifications
* Any Palo Alto Networks exposure: coursework, lab work, or PCCET / PCNSA certification
* Experience with MDM platforms (JAMF, Intune) or basic endpoint management tools
* Help desk, MSP, or IT internship experience
* Military IT, communications, signals, or cyber background — Sourced Intelligence is veteran-friendly
* Familiarity with ticketing systems, basic scripting (PowerShell, Bash), or home lab / personal networking projects you can talk about

Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
