Health Aide Full Time

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform basic first aid on students
• Administer scheduled and PRN inhalers and oral medications
• Recognize the signs of severe allergic reactions and be able to administer emergency anaphylactic treatment, if needed
• Establish a positive relationship with parents, students, coworkers, volunteers, and other visitors. Contact parents as appropriate
• Learn and maintain knowledge of health documentation
• Maintain confidentiality of health information pertaining to individual students/staff
• Aid students with daily living needs as indicated
• Performs other duties as assigned by an appropriate administrator

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma. Post-secondary education in health care field, preferred
• CPR Certification
• Completion of Unlicensed Medication Assistant Training
• Knowledge of Standard Precautions, Seizure Precautions, and Managing Diabetes in the school setting Tier I
• Ability to work with the nurse and administrator as a team
