This position is eligible for a $2.25 evening shift differential 5pm-10:30pm/ppSummary: To assist the radiologists and technologists to obtain the highest quality studies and to effect the most efficient workflow in the department./ppGeneral Description: The Patient Care Assistant MRI must be able to: work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced environment in meeting continual deadlines; handle multiple priorities with constant interruptions; be highly organized to meet deadlines. Organizational skills are essential. Interacts with the radiologists, other departments within Inland Imaging, patients and family members and outside contacts. Excellent written, verbal and personal communication skills; be tactful and diplomatic; and be highly confidential. Makes decisions regarding daily work priorities and other decisions based on company policies and procedures./ppEssential Duties / Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions./pulliEscort patients to exam rooms and instruct patient in the appropriate preparation for exam/liliMaintain clean, well stocked exam and dressing rooms/liliPull previous studies and reports/liliAssist scheduling department with scheduling patients and call backs as needed/liliAssist Technologists with patients as needed/liliInteract with Nursing, Front Office Core, and Reading Room Assistants to ensure smooth work flow throughout the clinic or hospital/liliMaintain clean scan room environment/liliUse required computer programs proficiently/liliMay transport patients to/from inpatient department or Emergency Room to/from Inland Imaging department./liliKnowledgeable of hospital codes and infection status (if applicable)/liliThis position may be required to work in a hospital, urgent care or clinical setting./liliPerforms other duties as assigned/li/ulpNorthpointe Location Only:/pulliPrepare and setup Arthrogram injection tray./liliAssist X-ray with preparing patients for exams when needed./li/ulpNWO Location Only:/pulliPrepare billing slips for NWOS billing office to ensure accurate CPT code was selected. Deliver to 4th floor billing office./liliReminder calls for next days MRI appointments./liliSend messages of scheduled appointment to practice coordinators through the NWOS e-Medsys system. Scheduler will provide a list each morning./liliProcess new orders submitted by NWOS office for scheduling. Ensure order is complete and authorized. Send and label orders with comments to the Medicalis Worklist for scheduler to call./liliReview old orders in Insurance pending folders for Medicalis worklist and request practice coordinator at NWOS for an update on the authorization process through e-Medsys as needed./li/ulpSHIC Location Only:/pulliCompletes the paperwork for biopsies and locs, lab work for specimens, consent forms and discharge instructions./liliConsults the patients history and physical and fills out the biopsy procedure paperwork under the direction of the technologist and nurse Fills out the paperwork for PAML (laboratory paperwork to process the specimen)./liliDelivers specimens to lab/liliProvides one on one patient support before, during and after a breast procedures by:/liliScreening the patient. Assists them in changing their clothes. Escorts patient for IV placement. Helps to position the patient on the biopsy table. Stays with the patient after first set of images are obtained, while the technologist and radiologist plan the procedure. Communicates timelines, what to expect as the procedure progresses to the patient. The assistant is in constant presence with the patient from beginning of procedure to discharge./liliAssists in setting up and cleaning up the MR Room, biopsy tray, biopsy table and biopsy machine/liliAssists with patient care after procedure by:/liliHolds pressure until bleeding has stopped. Dresses incision. Escorts patient to and from Mammogram Department and gives report of patients condition and tolerance to the procedure to the mammography technologist. Helps patient dress post procedure./liliKeeps a QA spreadsheet regarding any complications regarding the Breast Biopsy table or biopsy equipment (ie; biopsy clip did not deploy properly, etc)./liliKeeps records of complications with equipment and/or procedure/liliOther duties as assigned/li/ulpHFIC MRI Extremity Location Only:/pulliAssist nurses with unexpected needs./liliParticipate in taking patient vital signs, under the direct supervision of the Nursing Staff/liliOccasionally assist sedated patients after their procedure/liliObtain patient meals and snacks as necessary/liliEscort patients from waiting room to dressing room prior to nurse assessment/liliManage laundry/liliStock supplies/liliClean and dress stretchers/liliHelp maintain adequate levels of nursing supplies/li/ulpGeneral Duties and Responsibilities:/pulliMay be required to complete a course in back safety prior to working with patients/liliAbility to maintain strict confidentiality within the Inland Imaging companies and Inlands customers./liliHonest, pleasant manner and good personal hygiene./liliFree of alcohol and drug abuse./liliAbility to access multiple locations as required./liliExcellent communication and interpersonal skills./liliDetail oriented; ability to multi-task; organized and able to work in a fast paced environment./liliDemonstrates self-directed learning and participation in continuing education through professional journals, approved seminars, etc./liliAbility to consider individual needs in communication with and assessment and treatment of patients of all ages./li/ululliAdheres to departmental standards and personnel policies by demonstrating professional demeanor in conduct and appearance./liliFollows company departmental standards and personnel policies by using good teamwork and communication skills to help identify concerns and solutions, assisting where needed to ensure a smooth functioning department./liliPerforms other duties as required by displaying team spirit and self-growth, accepting and performing other projects and responsibilities./liliRotates to other shifts and locations as needed./liliAbility to work nights, weekends, and holidays/liliAttendance is required for this position./li/ulpSupervisory Responsibilities:/pulliThere is little or no supervisory responsibility in this position/li/ulpAdvocacy:/ppTreats all patients and coworkers with dignity and respect Provides excellent customer service Conforms to Joint Commission and HIPAA regulations Complies with PHI (Protected Health Information) Demonstrates the Inland Imaging Core Values/pulliShow We Care, Do The Right Thing, Maximize Individual Potential, Always Aim Higher/li/ulpQualifications:/pulliEducation: High School Diploma/GED required/liliExperience: One year minimum experience in the medical field./liliAnatomy and medical terminology preferred./liliMedical office experience preferred./liliUnderstanding of MRI procedures to be read by radiologist preferred./liliComputer Skills: Experience with the following computer applications is highly desired: Outlook; Kronos; Replicon; Imagecast; Stentor; IDXterm; Flowcast; Allscripts; Intranet, EPIC and Medicalis/liliBackground Check:/liulliMust be able to pass a background check required by RCW 43.43.830-840 to work with children under the age of 16, developmentally disabled persons or vulnerable adults/liliIn order to comply with provisions set forth in Sections 1128 and 1156 of the Social Security Act, all new employees of Inland Imaging Clinical Associates, LLC will be checked against the LIST OF EXCLUDED INDIVIDUALS provided by the Department of Health Human Services, Office of the Inspector General (OIG).
