Responsibilities
Serve as Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for network operations in corporate, retail, cloud and data center network environments, providing advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, root cause analysis and integration activities upon escalation.
Implement enterprise‑wide network solutions, upgrades and changes with a strong focus on network security – including the implementation and management of firewalls, crafting firewall policies, developing trust‑zone models, building systems/apps into trust zones, and handling third‑party connectivity requests.
Interface with business unit and corporate stakeholders to consult and gather requirements for new projects, including understanding the business application workflows.
Build and communicate a well‑organized project implementation plan.
Provide excellent client service while evaluating enhancements to the global networks using technical knowledge, experience, and a deep understanding of switching, routing, and data flows.
Conduct related technical analysis and planning for deployment of evolving technology solutions, leveraging architecture standards and design guides, and contribute to the development of such standards.
Prepare technical solution designs and proposals that apply existing standards to meet business requirements, addressing business application workflows.
Produce simple and concise documentation including project budgets, implementation plans, technical drawings, project management artifacts, business application workflows and operational handoffs as necessary.
Project manage owned projects, ensuring successful delivery with effective organization and stakeholder communication.
Guide junior engineers and vendors through configuration, implementation and operational activities.
Requirements of Success
At least two of the following: University STEM degree, industry certification(s) such as CCIE, CCDP, CCNP, security certification, cloud certification, or equivalent experience.
Network product training or certification.
7+ years of related experience at multi‑national corporate enterprises with at least 10,000 workers and 20+ countries.
At least 4 of those 7 years in a lead design role for one or more large, complex networks.
Experience designing, building, and monitoring LAN, MAN, WAN, SD‑WAN, MPLS, Internet, VPN, Wi‑Fi, DNS/DHCP, QoS, and data center network environments.
Extensive and substantial practical experience and applied knowledge of routing protocols BGP, IS‑IS and OSPF.
Extensive and substantial practical experience and applied knowledge of Spanning Tree Protocol.
Knowledge of VXLAN fabric networks.
Knowledge of MPLS label switching and MP‑BGP routing.
Experience mentoring junior engineers.
Strong understanding of current‑era data center network design, both for internal data centers and cloud service provider environments.
Experience deploying and managing load balancers and remote access VPNs, including next‑generation firewalls.
Experience dealing with compliance‑related regulations such as PCI, HIPAA, GDPR; preferred.
Experience testing or implementing Network Access Control solutions.
Network Operations/Administration experience is helpful, but candidates must have advanced into a senior network design role.
Coding and/or scripting skills (e.g., Python, Ansible, Terraform) and experience with network automation.
Pay Range Lawrence, MA Corp Only Pay Range: $104,500.00 – $130,000.00 – $155,500.00 Annual (actual base pay varies based on relevant experience, time in role, internal equity, geographic location, and more).
