Position Overview We are seeking a driven and experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead the complete overhaul and build-out of our QA/QC function from the ground up. This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring both strategic thinking and the operational expertise to translate vision into documented, scalable systems. The ideal candidate thrives in fast‑paced manufacturing environments, is comfortable with ambiguity, and has a proven track record of building quality infrastructure where little or none previously existed.
This role is critical to our organization's growth and product integrity. You will own the end‑to‑end quality lifecycle — from incoming raw materials through final product release — while building the team, policies, and culture that support long‑term operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities Quality Systems & Process Development
Architect, document, and continuously improve the company's end‑to‑end QA/QC framework
Author and maintain SOPs, work instructions, inspection criteria, and quality policies for all manufacturing processes
Develop and own the document control system to ensure version integrity and traceability
Establish and manage a robust CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) system
Incoming Materials & Supplier Quality
Design and oversee incoming inspection processes for all raw materials, components, and purchased parts
Define acceptance criteria and rejection protocols in collaboration with Procurement and Engineering
Develop a supplier scorecard and performance review process to drive upstream quality
Manage material holds, rejections, and supplier corrective action requests (SCARs)
Outgoing Product Quality
Establish final product inspection standards, release criteria, and certificate of conformance (COC) processes
Implement in‑process quality controls and statistical process control (SPC) tools as appropriate
Oversee disposition of non‑conforming finished goods and coordinate RMA and customer complaint processes
Drive reduction of defect rates, scrap, and rework through root cause analysis and process improvements
Leadership & Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Lead, mentor, and grow the QA team as headcount scales
Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Operations leadership to embed quality into daily production workflows
Serve as the internal subject matter expert for all matters related to quality, compliance, and inspection
Present quality performance data, trends, and initiative updates to senior leadership on a regular cadence
Qualifications Required
5+ years of progressive quality assurance/quality control experience in a manufacturing environment
Demonstrated experience building or rebuilding a QA/QC department or management system from scratch
Proven ability to author SOPs, work instructions, inspection plans, and quality policies
Hands‑on experience overseeing both incoming material inspection and outgoing product release processes
Strong knowledge of quality management tools: CAPA, NCR, FMEA, root cause analysis, SPC, and/or 8D
Track record of success in a high‑volume, fast‑paced manufacturing environment with shifting priorities
Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects without losing momentum
Strong communicator with the ability to influence cross‑functional teams and present to executive leadership
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field
ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CQM), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or equivalent certification
Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS9100, IATF 16949, or other relevant quality management standards
Experience implementing or managing a Quality Management System (QMS) software platform
Sage Accounting Software
Lean manufacturing experience and ability to integrate quality into continuous improvement initiatives
What We Offer
Competitive salary commensurate with experience
Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits
401(k) with company match
Paid time off and company holidays
A high‑impact, high‑visibility role with direct influence on company direction
We are an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.
