Overview The licensed athletic trainer delivers care under the direction and/or collaboration of a physician and functions as an integral member of the Orthopaedic Clinic patient care team. The trainer works closely with the supervising physician by assisting in maintaining clinic flow, clinic cleanliness and stocking, patient education, performing therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions and assisting with office procedures. The athletic trainer is also responsible for carrying out other clinic duties and clerical responsibilities as detailed below, supporting clinic operations and delivering high-quality, safe, patient-centered care in collaboration with a supervising physician and the clinical care team. Responsibilities
Manages the flow of patients in the department.
Maintains adequate stocking of supplies in designated rooms/clinical work areas
Maintains the cleanliness and general appearance of examination and treatment areas. Cleans, disinfects, sterilizes and maintains equipment and instruments.
Assists in ordering of clinic supplies as directed or assigned.
Reviews assigned provider schedules to ensure receipt of records and accuracy of pre-appointment radiology appointments and orders.
Computerized order entry and charging for appropriate services as indicated by provider or written protocols.
Assists in prior authorizations as directed.
Prepares patient, room and equipment for procedures and exams.
Conducts brief interview and history, obtains vital signs, performs basic screening/diagnostic measures and collect and processes specimens.
Performs patient education for durable medical equipment to include training on use of assistive devices.
Prepares and educates patients on home exercises programs.
Assists in clinic procedures such as aspirations, injections.
Performs cast removal, suture/staple removal.
Completes assigned inBasket duties pertaining to physical therapy and occupational therapy questions.
Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training required.
Required Licensure/Certifications
Licensed Athletic Trainer - NH
(BLS) within 30 days
Area of Interest:Allied Health
Pay Range:$23.39/Hr. - $36.26/Hr.
FTE/Hours per pay period:1.00 - 1.00 - 40 hrs/week
