Examples of Essential Work (Illustrative Only)Develops, implements, and administers the City-County's occupational safety and health programs. Conducts workplace inspections, safety audits, and hazard assessments. Provides safety oversight and technical assistance for City-County construction, utility, and infrastructure projects to ensure compliance with applicable safety standards. Identifies unsafe conditions and recommends corrective actions. Investigates employee safety concerns and complaints and recommends corrective actions as appropriate. Investigates accidents, injuries, incidents, and near-miss events and recommends preventative measures. Design and implement workplace processes and procedures that help protect workers from potentially hazardous work conditions. Administers the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) and Hazard Communication Programs. Implement hazardous materials management and hazard communication standards. Maintains current knowledge on all applicable safety laws and regulations and implements changes as needed. Ensures compliance with OSHA regulations, the Montana Safety Culture Act, and other applicable safety requirements. Maintain and apply knowledge of current policies, regulations, and industrial processes. Develop or maintain hygiene programs.

Acceptable Experience and Training Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Public Administration, Education, Training and Development, or a closely related field; or Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in occupational safety, training administration, workforce development, emergency preparedness, risk management, or a related field; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the work. Required Special Qualifications Must possess a valid driver's license issued by the State of Montana or the ability to obtain one within a reasonable period of time upon accepting employment. Must be a resident of Butte-Silver Bow during employment according to Butte-Silver Bow Ordinance. See below.
