- €95,000 DOE + Bonus + Benefits About the Opportunity LinkedSkills Recruitment is partnering with a well-established Irish supplier serving the Plumbing, Mechanical Services, Drainage and Construction sectors to appoint a hands-on Branch Manager.
This is a key leadership position responsible for the day-to-day management and commercial performance of a busy contractor-focused branch.
The successful candidate will lead a small team of approximately five employees across the trade counter, customer service, warehouse, and sales support functions, while maintaining strong relationships with plumbers, contractors, installers, and trade customers.
This role requires a leader who is visible, customer-focused and commercially minded.
Someone who enjoys being involved in the operation, supporting customers, developing staff and driving sales growth.
The Role Reporting directly to senior management, the Branch Manager will be responsible for the overall performance of the branch, including: Sales growth Customer service Team leadership Branch profitability Stock management Business development Operational excellence This is not a desk-based management role.
The successful candidate will be expected to lead from the front, support the trade counter when required and maintain a strong presence throughout the business.
Key ResponsibilitiesBranch Operations Manage the day-to-day operation of the branch.
Ensure exceptional customer service standards.
Support trade counter and customer service teams.
Maintain stock accuracy and product availability.
Monitor branch performance and profitability.
Ensure health & safety and operational standards are maintained.
Deliver a clean, organised and efficient branch environment.
Customer & Contractor Relationships Build strong relationships with plumbers, mechanical contractors and trade customers.
Provide product guidance and technical support.
Develop customer loyalty and repeat business.
Resolve customer issues in a professional and timely manner.
Conduct regular customer visits and account reviews.
Sales & Business Development Drive branch sales growth and profitability.
Develop existing customer accounts.
Identify and secure new business opportunities.
Support external sales activities where required.
Promote specialist product ranges and services.
Maximise opportunities across all customer segments.
Team Leadership Lead, motivate and develop branch employees.
Create a positive, customer-focused culture.
Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews.
Support employee training and development.
Lead by example through active involvement in branch activities.
Candidate ProfileEssential Experience Previous Branch Manager, Assistant Branch Manager or General Manager experience within: Plumbing Merchants Builders Merchants Heating Merchants Mechanical Services Supply Trade Distribution Strong knowledge of plumbing, heating or mechanical products.
Experience dealing directly with plumbers, contractors and trade customers.
Proven track record of growing sales and developing customer relationships.
Strong understanding of branch operations and team leadership.
Commercial awareness with the ability to drive profitability.
Highly Desirable Experience within plumbing merchanting environments.
Trade counter management experience.
Builder's merchant experience.
Existing contractor network within the Leinster market.
Exposure to hire, tool, mechanical or specialist product environments.
