Job Title: Residential Aide Employment Type: Per-diem Scheduled Hours: Varies, 11pm-7am or 12am-8am Program/Location: Hendee House, Coventry, CT About the Program: Hendee Road Home is a 6 bed residential program for men with severe mental illness and are discharging from long term hospitalization. The program will address the full range of daily living needs of each individual with a focus on increasing independence and self-efficacy of individuals through 24-hour/7-day a week staff support in the residence and the community. Staff interventions focus on teaching skills around daily living, symptom management, coping skills, medication management, health & nutrition, healthy relationships, personal safety, money management, substance use education, linking to recovery supports, and providing sober activities. Staff will also provide crisis intervention in attempt to reduce need for hospitalizations and emergency room visits. About the Position: Residential Aide Duties & Responsibilities
Maintains physical environment and program standards set by funders, accreditors, and agency policies. Monitor self-administration of client medications in accordance with the agency medication policies and procedure as program may require. Effectively utilizes appropriate communication methods/tools to effectively collaborate with co-workers and clients. Teaches and assists all residents in areas of developmentally appropriate activities of daily living. Assists/Manages administrative functions and tasks at the direction of the supervisor. Prepares and facilitates educational and skill building groups and one to one intervention as directed by the treatment plan. Collaborates and coordinate care with providers and families as needed. Assists residents in addressing medical and psychiatric needs. Maintains documentation in compliance with agency and program standards. Participates in staff meetings, supervision, trainings, and other meetings as assigned. Additional duties as required.
Qualifications: Education: High diploma or GED required. Experience: Two years' experience working with a relevant population preferred. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Valid driver's license required with good driving record. Training: CPR & First Aid Certification required OR must obtain within 90 days of employment.
