*Job Description*
We are looking for a Professional Services Engineer to join our growing team.
This position is primarily focused on implementing projects and strategic technology improvements for our clients. You will work directly with our vCIO team to execute technology roadmaps and deliver projects that improve our clients' security, productivity, and infrastructure.
While the role will occasionally assist with escalated support issues, our long-term vision is for this position to focus primarily on project implementation and infrastructure improvement.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building, improving, and modernizing technology environments rather than spending their entire day resolving routine support tickets.
_This role is ideal for an ambitious technician or systems administrator who wants to spend less time on routine tickets and more time designing, implementing, and improving technology environments._
*What You'll Be Doing*
You will serve as the primary engineer on many of our client projects, including:
* Firewall replacements and security upgrades
* Network refreshes and infrastructure improvements
* Wireless deployments and upgrades
* Microsoft 365 migrations and modernization projects
* Server refreshes and virtualization projects
* Workstation lifecycle refreshes
* Cybersecurity solution deployments
* Cloud migrations and implementations
* Documentation and standardization initiatives
You will work closely with our help desk staff, vCIO, and leadership team but will often be the technical lead responsible for ensuring projects are completed successfully.
*What Success Looks Like*
Within your first 12 months, you will:
* Successfully lead and complete multiple client projects
* Be comfortable implementing Microsoft 365, networking, and security solutions
* Build trusted relationships with clients
* Help execute vCIO-driven technology roadmaps
* Improve client environments through proactive projects
* Contribute to AlphaTech's technical standards and best practices
*Qualifications*
Required
* 3+ years of IT support, systems administration, or MSP experience
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
* Experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments
* Experience with Windows Server and Active Directory
* Working knowledge of networking concepts including DNS, DHCP, VPNs, switching, and Wi-Fi
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
* Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Preferred
* Previous MSP experience
* Experience implementing IT projects
* Experience with Microsoft Entra ID and modern endpoint management
* Experience with firewalls, switches, and wireless technologies
* Microsoft certifications
* Cybersecurity experience and security-focused mindset
