Our Sat Connect IC business unit, a division of our Satellite Systems business, is a leading provider of ASICs, software, multibeam electronically steered antennas, and complete systems for communication satellites, as well as ground and airborne terminals. Role:
Intermediate Embedded Linux Software Engineer
Responsibilities Reporting to the team leader, the candidate will have the following responsibilities:
Develop & maintain existing Beamforming Embedded Software products
Timely delivery of software to a variety of product lines integrating with customer projects
Maintain code quality standards using industry recognized tools
Contribute to evolution of the design and product roadmap
Support automation tools and continuous integration methodologies
Take ownership of issues on products and engage with customers as appropriate
Produce documentation at all levels of lifecycle (concept, design, training material etc.)
Job Requirements – including work experience and education
2+ years of experience of full lifecycle embedded software development
C/C++ embedded SW engineering experience, preferably on ARM or similar processor
Experience working with embedded Linux (kernel and user‑space development and debugging, Yocto, Buildroot, low level drivers, etc.)
Communication interfaces: Ethernet, SPI, I2C, UART, and USB
Low level Device Driver experience and ability to develop integrate and test
Python/Perl scripting knowledge
Version Control experience (e.g., GIT or SVN)
Excellent interpersonal skills
Independent, self‑motivated, team player and multitasking capabilities
Ability to work in a fast‑paced and changing environment
Knowledge on RF fundamentals and communications theory desirable, but not essential
Knowledge of code coverage tools and unit test environments desirable, but not essential
