Job Overview The Seafood Associate is responsible for maintaining a high‑quality seafood department, ensuring customer satisfaction, and supporting overall store operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Keep the seafood area well stocked and appealing to meet customer requirements. Smile and greet customers, make suggestions, and provide information on seafood preparation. Take orders for future delivery and help fulfill special requests. Resolve customer concerns promptly and courteously. Set up displays and rotate product as needed. Ensure seafood is fresh, in a saleable condition, and equipped with proper prices and signage. Handle spoiled, damaged, or close‑to‑expiration product according to company procedures and standards. Remove unsaleable product to maintain quality. Weigh and wrap merchandise for customers and apply stickers showing price and weight. Maintain logs to track freshness and quality. Adhere to all food and personal safety codes when handling product or using kitchen tools. Perform general sanitation of the department. Follow cleaning schedules and department guidelines to keep work areas, equipment, counters, display cases, etc., clean and compliant with health and OSHA requirements. Dispose of trash properly. Assist the manager in controlling inventory through proper ordering. Minimize losses by returning products to refrigeration. Report shortages or overages to the manager. May assist with receiving, unloading, checking‑in, breaking‑down, and storing deliveries using a power jack or hand jack if properly trained (training provided). May assist with baling cardboard or other related duties if properly trained (training provided). Ensure smooth operation of the department and store by cooperating with co‑workers and superiors. Continuously improve job performance. Properly use all company‑provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as cut‑resistant gloves, safety cutters, company‑sponsored footwear, etc. May be called upon to assist in other departments. Supervisory Responsibilities This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications High school diploma or GED, or actively working toward one. No prior experience required.
