Overview Assistant Director, Principal Gifts Projects & Analytics (Development Strategy Associate) supports the principal gifts program within the Fund for Johns Hopkins Medicine (FJHM). Responsibilities include project management, donor and prospect analytics, and impact reporting. This role reports to the Director of Principal Gifts Strategy at FJHM and collaborates with Johns Hopkins University Central Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) and internal partners. The role involves preparing donor-facing and institutional materials, including principal-level proposals, leadership briefings, correspondences, gift agreements, stewardship reports, and data visualizations. Key Responsibilities
Support the development of materials for principal level proposals, leadership briefings, donor correspondence, gift agreements, and MOUs in coordination with the Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations and internal partners. In partnership with Stewardship and Donor Engagement, support ongoing stewardship of principal gift relationships, including writing and editing stewardship materials highlighting the impact of philanthropic support. Identify data resources needed to create reporting and tracking tools for principal gifts to understand history, current state, and forecast. Work with the Development Strategy Manager to refine and implement a regular system of reporting and tracking for the Office of Development Strategy. Lead project management for principal gift donor recognition programs, including naming opportunities, coordinating across internal stakeholders for timely recognition of donor contributions in JHU&M facilities. Support formatting of proposal and stewardship collateral for principal-level donors by creating layouts, templates, or coordinating with graphic design resources. Monitor and analyze donor engagement, philanthropic potential, and relationship milestones for principal gift donors throughout the donor lifecycle to help leaders prioritize engagements. Identify and support qualification of new prospective principal gift donors within Johns Hopkins Medicine. Create donor-ready impact visualizations and customize impact reporting frameworks for specific donors (e.g., multi-year stewardship plans, milestone updates, targeted outcome reporting).
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree. Two years of related experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience permitted by JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in project management, advancement services, analytics, or related area, preferably in medical or academic philanthropy. Experience with data visualization/analytics platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), Salesforce CRM reporting, and advanced Microsoft 365 skills. Strong organizational, analytical, data visualization, and communication skills. Professional demeanor, discretion, and a relationship-driven, service mindset.
