Sales representatives are out on the road every day, meeting with valued customers, visiting job sites and building relationships with key stakeholders to ensure continued success. Our sales team consists of self-starters with strong problem‑solving skills, mechanical aptitude and a drive to succeed. In This Outside Sales Role, You Will Become the expert: learn all about Victaulic’s products and the many ways we can provide solutions for our customers and help them get projects done on time and within budget with our excellent training program.
Know the industry: gain knowledge about grooved mechanical pipe joining methods, competing methods such as welding and flanging, construction cycles, and market trends.
Understand the business: work with your Regional Sales Manager to develop a business plan, including opportunity mapping, sales goals, product promotion plans, and strategies to maximize sales potential. Execute all phases of project pursuit and project management from inception through after‑sale follow‑up, and lead internal teams to meet customer requirements.
Build strong relationships: develop trust with mechanical contractors, engineers, building and project owners, and spend time with customers beyond normal business hours. Partner with Victaulic distributors and coordinate activities with other representatives and regional specialists.
Educate and influence: learn customers’ needs, educate them on the overall value of Victaulic products, and influence decision‑makers. Demonstrate expertise on job sites and in presentations to engineers.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred. Previous sales experience in value‑added products/services related to commercial construction, PVF industry (pipes, valves, fittings) or mechanical products is preferred. Demonstrated achievements in sales and ability to develop and nurture long‑standing relationships are beneficial.
Self‑motivated, self‑driven, confident, professional, affable personality, strong problem‑solving, resourceful, creative, organized, and with solid project management and time‑management skills.
Willingness to travel frequently, including overnight trips, and ability to handle adverse weather conditions and heavy equipment.
