Sous Chef – Coleraine – Permanent
Join a long-established and highly regarded local hotel, known for its welcoming atmosphere, quality dining and beautiful surroundings. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced chef to become part of a professional kitchen team in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
The Role
• Negotiable salary
• Full-time working hours
• Well-established catering and chef team
• Permanent position
As Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to support the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring consistently high standards across all food service areas within the hotel. This is a hands-on position suited to someone with strong leadership skills, excellent organisation and a genuine passion for hospitality and quality food.
Key Responsibilities
• Support daily kitchen operations
• Prepare and present food to a high standard
• Assist with menu planning and development
• Supervise and support kitchen staff
• Lead shifts in the Head Chef's absence
• Maintain food hygiene and safety standards
• Assist with stock control and ordering
• Minimise waste and support cost control
• Support weddings, banqueting and events
• Ensure efficient service during busy periods
About You
• Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie
• Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food preparation
• Experience within hotel, restaurant or banqueting environments
• Confident leading and motivating a team
• Sound understanding of food hygiene and safety standards
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining high standards
