What you'll do Run discovery and process mapping with customer teams. Take what they actually do across half a dozen systems, including the handoffs and exceptions, and turn it into a pilot scope with a clear Definition of Done.
Build and demo pilots inside the product. We don't show generic decks. Every demo runs against the customer's process, with their data shape and their approval rules and their write-back targets.
Own the technical evaluation. Security review, integration sizing, the IT objections.
Bring engineering in when you actually need them.
Stay in the deal through pilot delivery. The customer's outcome has to be verifiable, not just demoable, and that part lands with you.
Who you are 3+ years in pre-sales, solutions engineering, forward-deployed, or implementation consulting. You've sold into Operations, Supply Chain or Finance buyers at enterprise companies. Retail or FMCG is a bonus.
You get your hands dirty with SQL, a bit of scripting, REST APIs, basic Python. You don't have to be a software engineer. You do have to be the person who can debug an integration live on a call.
You read a buying committee well. You know who the champion is, who the blocker is, and when to escalate.
You explain things in plain English. You push back on customer asks when they hurt the pilot. Your call summaries are good enough that the rep just forwards them.
