The Backend Software Engineer is a crucial contributor to Oneleet's success, providing technical expertise and innovative solutions in our cybersecurity platform. As a Series A startup, this role offers unique opportunities for close collaboration with the founding team and cross-functional departments. You'll be instrumental in building and optimizing our backend services and infrastructure, working with modern technologies across our stack. Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain backend services and APIs in Go
Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas and queries for high-volume data
Build reliable orchestration and integration layers across internal and third-party systems
Implement metrics, distributed tracing, and observability across services
Collaborate with the Engineering team on improving the overall Developer Experience
Implement security best practices
Collaborate with frontend, fullstack, and the broader engineering team
Qualifications
5+ years of experience with Go and designing REST APIs
Experience writing optimized PostgreSQL queries
Comfortable building reliable integrations with third-party APIs and services
Scrappy; prior startup experience and not afraid to get their hands dirty
Pragmatic; knows how to build things fast without unnecessarily complicating things
Expert time management; we work with clients all over the world. We don't expect anyone to be working 24/7 - but we are looking for someone comfortable operating outside of the 9-5 mentality
Comfortable wearing many hats and eagerly adjusts to shifting priorities
Experience in (and thrives in) a fast-moving, start-up engineering environment
Excellent communication skills across all levels of technical proficiency
Experience with architecting, building and maintaining SaaS platform backends
Bonus
Experience with gRPC or similar tool
Experience with TypeScript
Experience with workflow engines or queue-based job orchestration
Experience in the information security field
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field

Competitive compensation & equity
We hire globally and compensate competitively within each market using geographic pay bands. The range for this role reflects a US national baseline. Offers for candidates in higher cost-of-labor markets (e.g., San Francisco, New York, Zurich) may fall at or above the top of the posted range, while offers in other markets are benchmarked to local standards and are lower. Within any range, individual compensation is determined by work location, skills and experience demonstrated through the interview process, and relevant education or training.
