Graphic Design Consultant (Part Time)
The Luminos Fund, an international nonprofit bringing education opportunities to the world's most vulnerable children, seeks an experienced Graphic Design Consultant to create high-quality digital and print assets that clearly and compellingly communicate Luminos' mission and impact. This role will help ensure Luminos' materials are consistently on-brand, visually polished, accessible, and effective in advancing our storytelling and organizational presence. This part-time (~20 hours/month), 6-month contract offers remote flexibility, with the requirement to be based within the GMT time zones. The Graphic Design Consultant will report to the Associate Director of Communications and work closely with team members across the organization. The contract is expected to begin in July 2026 and run through December 2026, with the possibility of an extension. About the Luminos Fund
The Luminos Fund provides transformative education programs to thousands of vulnerable children each year, helping them to catch up to grade level and prepare for lifelong learning. Working in partnership with community-based organizations in sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East, Luminos is scaling up its accelerated learning program through the Luminos Method — an evidence-based approach that helps children catch up fast and discover the joy of learning. Luminos is supported by a range of funding partners, including Cartier Philanthropy, the Gates Foundation, UBS Optimus Foundation, and UNICEF. Luminos has been recognized for its achievements globally, receiving the Klaus J. Jacobs Best Practice Prize, the Library of Congress International Literacy Award, the Lipman Family Prize, and the WISE Award, and is a member of the HundrED Hall of Fame. Duties and Responsibilities
Design responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Formatting and designing reports, proposals, concept notes, and other publications in Microsoft Word and Adobe InDesign. Designing data and strategy visualizations for the website, reports, presentations, and other external materials. Creating social media graphics, including short animations and videos, carousel graphics, and data visualizations. Formatting PowerPoint presentations in Luminos-branded templates, including using Luminos icons, photography, and creating PowerPoint-editable graphics. Designing printed collateral for events, such as postcards, flyers, banners, and signage. Designing branded promotional items and gifts. Supporting fast turnaround design needs while maintaining strong attention to detail, brand consistency, and accessibility. Qualifications
Required Experience: 5+ years of professional design experience, ideally including both print and digital design. Fluency in the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Deep experience with formatting and producing materials in Microsoft Office, including Word and PowerPoint. Impeccable attention to detail, including the ability to spot typos, inconsistencies, and formatting issues. Proven organizational, communication, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Fluency in written and spoken English. Availability to start this role in July 2026. Preferred Experience: Experience designing for nonprofit organizations, international development projects, or research/evidence-focused communications. Experience with light animations and video editing. Experience with Canto.
