Quality Assurance Documentation Specialist (Government Projects)
PiTech Solutions Inc is pleased to respond to the requirement for an independent, comprehensive assessment of the Office of Information Technology (OIT). Our mandate is a team of approximately ten professionals that support an entire federal agency's technology infrastructure, cybersecurity posture, cloud services, and daily help desk operations averaging 500 tickets per month.
We will deliver six months of structured, evidence-based assessment work culminating in actionable findings across eight domains — organizational, governance, operational, infrastructure, cybersecurity, contracts and licensing, modernization, and data/AI readiness. Every recommendation is weighted against FMC's priorities, cybersecurity and compliance first, followed by governance accountability, operational performance, technology lifecycle, and cost efficiency.
Position Overview The Quality Assurance Documentation Specialist is responsible for developing, maintaining, and ensuring compliance of all quality-related documentation for government contracts. This role supports project teams by ensuring deliverables meet contractual, regulatory, and organizational quality standards, with a strong focus on accuracy, traceability, and audit readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, review, and maintain Quality Assurance (QA) documentation, including Quality Management Plans (QMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Work Instructions.
Ensure compliance with federal standards and frameworks such as ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001), agency-specific guidelines, and contract requirements.
Perform documentation control activities, including version control, configuration management, and records retention in accordance with government policies.
Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, tracking findings, and ensuring corrective actions are documented and implemented.
Collaborate with project managers, technical teams, and stakeholders to ensure documentation aligns with project deliverables and quality objectives.
Conduct quality reviews of deliverables to ensure completeness, accuracy, and adherence to contract specifications.
Maintain traceability matrices and ensure all requirements are properly documented and validated.
Monitor compliance with QA processes and recommend process improvements.
Assist in the development and implementation of Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
7+ years of experience in quality assurance, documentation management, or compliance on government or federal projects.
Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, documentation standards, and audit processes.
Experience with document control systems and configuration management tools.
Familiarity with federal contracting environments and regulatory requirements.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance (if required).
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in quality management (e.g., Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA)).
Experience with frameworks such as Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) or IT governance standards like Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
Prior experience supporting agencies such as Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), or other federal entities.
