Our Opening and Your Responsibilities The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) for Mettler-Toledo Process Analytics (PRO) reports to the National Sales Manager for Hygienic Segments and works closely with external channel partners. This role is responsible for managing a defined territory and driving business objectives through strategic sales efforts. The position requires up to 50% overnight travel. Territory: Midsouth Hygienic (Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina). This role focuses on communicating complex technical concepts to customers, demonstrating how products and solutions address specific application challenges.
What you will do
Meet or exceed the sales budget for Process Analytics products in the Mid-South Region (North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia).
Establish yourself as a trusted advisor with the customer base by analyzing customer pain points, mastering product & application knowledge, and differentiating PRO from the competition.
Proactively penetrate accounts and generate business at new (non-customer) sites.
Build relationships with customers and colleagues and maintain the highest level of integrity while building long-term relationships.
Develop and execute a channel partner strategic territory plan to include the methodology needed to achieve sales growth including all sales and related activities, i.e., lead generation, cold calling, nurturing, product demonstrations, sales calls, organizing and presenting technical seminars, application feasibility tests, perform demonstrations for products and coordinating customer support.
Achieve technical and application proficiency with all METTLER TOLEDO Process Analytics products, value positioning, competitors, and core applications.
Use application knowledge to identify companies that could benefit from PRO technology.
Maintain the customer relationship management (CRM) system daily. Complete weekly reports and provide an accurate, detailed forecast on a continual basis, using the CRM system.
Provide feedback on market trends, competitive activity / reconnaissance, and other information that may be of value for corporate goal attainment.
Generate monthly pulse reports summarizing sales activities and opportunities, including a 30-60-90-day opportunity pipeline.
Manage expenses with integrity and ethical behavior.
What You Need to Succeed
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience with liquid analytical instrumentation and/or water purification equipment.
3+ years of direct sales experience.
Intimate knowledge of microelectronics applications and accounts.
Energetic, analytical thinking and performance-driven professional with strong execution abilities.
Assertive team player: ability to work in a matrix environment and positively influence and drive consensus across teams without direct authority.
Skill in developing and maintaining relationships with key customers.
Develops strategies to achieve organizational goals; understands business implications of decisions; displays orientation to profitability. Aligns work with strategic goals.
High level of integrity, commitment, and ethics.
Self-motivated with ability to set targets and achieve objectives with minimum supervision.
Excellent planning, execution, and project-management skills.
Versed in concept validation and market research methods such as voice of customer.
Demonstrated ability to drive customer relationships and understand customer needs.
Proficient in presentation execution, written and verbal communication skills.
Willingness to travel up to 25% to 50%.
